Self-care is not selfish
Feb 18, 2013
This is an extraordinary practice to learn and live out every day. Let’s talk about why that is.
Self care is how we maintain the priorities in life so we do not burn out. By ignoring what you need out of life it begins to twist into a shadow of your former self. How can anyone give when they are just barely hanging on themselves?
Self care is a place from which we can make sure we are capable of being there for others. It’s a place from which we need to start again and rediscover our own sense of sanity and peace. When you live this way, you experience calm and contentment with your life. Joy and love are accessible and you become someone who lives with passion.
This passionate, caring, peaceful and content person that you have become is capable of giving far more to others than someone who is working themselves to the bone, anxious, tired and is on the razors edge of being burned out yet feels a sense of guilt they are not “selfless” enough so they trudge onward.
To live extraordinary, you have to transform your thinking in these areas. This is the focus of ontological life coaching! This is where life really beings to happen.
